HILLSDALE, MI (WTVB) – A man who led police on a 100 mile per hour pursuit through three counties last August was ordered to serve between 80 months and 10 years in the Michigan Department of Corrections Tuesday in Hillsdale County Circuit Court.
The sentence handed down to 24-year-old Christopher Ladell Strong will be consecutive to his parole cases.
Strong entered a guilty plea to fleeing and eluding second offense.
He was wanted on several warrants including one for absconding from parole in Kalamazoo County at the time of the pursuit which started in Marshall when he tried to flee from medical personnel who had been called for an unresponsive man.
The chase went south into Branch County and east into Hillsdale County. It went through Jonesville, the northern part of Hillsdale, Allen and Litchfield before ending at County Line Road south of Homer.
At least two Michigan State Police units were damaged during the pursuit.
Sheriff Departments from Calhoun, Branch and Hillsdale Counties and State Police from the Jackson Post were among the police agencies assisting the State Police from Marshall.
Michigan Department of Corrections records indicate Strong had fleeing and eluding convictions in St. Joseph County in 2011 and another in 2015 in Kalamazoo County.
