PORTAGE (WKZO AM/FM) — A pepper spraying incident in a crowded restaurant caused a stampede early this morning.
Portage Public Safety officers were dispatched to the Riviera Maya Restaurant on Westnedge near Kilgore at about 1:40 am to direct traffic as a large gathering was about to break up and the business was about to close.

The motive for the incident was not mentioned in the news release.
