FREMONT, IN (WTVB) – A man from Fremont, Indiana has died from his injuries following a tree cutting accident February 6 near Clearwater and Cranson Roads in Branch County’s Bethel Township.
56-year-old Brian Thompson pased away Tuesday, two weeks after he was flown from the scene by West Michigan Air Care to Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne after he was hit in the head by a falling tree.
Thompson was said to be unresponsive when rescue crews arrived on the afternoon of the accident.
Besides the Branch County Sheriff’s Department, the Bronson Fire Department and LifeCare Ambulance were dispatched to the scene.
Thompson was born in Coldwater and attended Coldwater High School. He was a farmer and formerly worked at Dexter Axle.
Memorial Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. this Saturday afternoon at the Beams Funeral Home in Fremont, Indiana.
