UNDATED (WKZO AM/FM) — Because of high winds, thousands are without power in South West Michigan.
Consumers Energy reports there are nearly 1300 in Allegan County, and over 2100, or about a quarter of the homes they service in Van Buren County in the dark.
A few hundred remain in the dark in Kalamazoo and Calhoun County, as Consumers crews were able to focus on those areas first.
Indiana and Michigan Electric are also coping with outages in the border counties.
There were only a few scattered outages in the City of Kalamazoo the last time we checked. .
