COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – For the second time this month in Branch County, Michigan State Police have made an arrest in a computer child crime case.
Tuesday night, troopers took into custody a 21-year old Algansee Township man at his girlfriend’s home in Quincy. Anthony Bais-Adams was arraigned yesterday in Branch County District Court on charges of using a computer to commit a crime and being in possession of child sexually abusive material. His bond was set at $100,000 cash or surety.
State Police say they acted on a tip and the MSP Computer Crime Unit began to investigate Bais-Adams last August. A warrant was sought in late October and it was issued by the Branch County Prosecutor’s office this week.
State Police say the computer seized from the suspect’s home contained photos of underage females engaged in sexual activities.
On January 5, 2018 a Coldwater man, Travis Robert Thomas, was arrested and arraigned on the same charges as Bais-Adams. A District Court probable cause hearing for Bais-Adams is scheduled for January 18, 2018.
