KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — It could be a late night at Kalamazoo City Hall for Commissioners who have a packed agenda and plan to interview candidates for the at-large director of the Foundation for Excellence, when they get done with their regular agena.
Among the items they are scheduled to tackle first is a proposal to rezone 243 parcels of land along the Burdick Street corridor south of downtown Kalamazoo. Some parcels could get more restrictive zoning.
It’s being contested by enough of the property owners to require a super-majority vote by the Commission.
Also on the agenda, approval of an 8% rate hike for water and 7% increase for sewer services. The meeting gets underway at 7pm at City Hall.
And when their regular agenda is exhausted, they will approve the appointment of 10 members of the Foundation Board nominated through the Kalamazoo Foundation.
Then they will Interview the half dozen people they have chosen from a much longer list of potential At-Large Directors and then pick one of them to hold the job.
