BATTLE CREEK, MI (WTVB) – Battle Creek Vice Mayor Dave Walters has stepped down from that post. Walters sent a resignation letter to Mayor Mark Behnke Friday, with his resignation effective Sunday, July 15, 2018.
According to the letter, other personal and professional commitments made Walters feel he could not be fully dedicated to his obligation on the commission.
Walters, who represents Ward 5, was elected to a three-year term last November. He was first elected in November 2011, but was appointed in September 2010 to replace another commissioner at that time.
The first step in filling his spot will be discussed at the Tuesday Battle Creek City Commission meeting.
