ALLEN TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – Six people were injured Thursday morning in a four vehicle chain reaction accident on U.S. 12 and Thompson Road in Hillsdale County.
The crash, which started as a vehicle was trying to turn into a private driveway, tied up traffic on both sides of U.S. 12.
The Hillsdale County Sheriff’s Department says three occupants of one vehicle were taken to ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital. They were identified as Carrie Fowler and 60-year-old Kay Conant of Allen and 79-year-old Loretta Frantom of Zolfo Springs, Florida.
Another driver of one of the vehicles involved, 72-year-old James Edward Carlin of Battle Creek, was taken to Hillsdale Hospital by a family member.
The other two drivers, 39-year-old Darrick Potter of Reading and 45-year-old Gregory Signor of Jonesville sought their own treatment.
The Sheriff’s Department is still investigating.
Deputies were assisted by the Department of Natural Resources, Allen Fire Department, Reading Emergency and Branch County Life Care.
