COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) -A Coldwater High School student was injured Monday afternoon when he was struck in the head with a shot put during track and field practice at CHS.
Lifecare Ambulance and the Coldwater Fire Rescue were dispatched to the high school at 4:25 p.m..
After ambulance crews cared for the 15-year-old youngster for almost a half hour, he was taken to ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital.
The name of the injured boy was not released and further information on the incident is unavailable from Coldwater school officials.
All questions pertaining to the incident were directed to Coldwater Superintendent Terry Boguth. She issued a statement on Tuesday saying the student was receiving medical care. Boguth added, “Our thoughts and prayers are with the student, his family and all of the students as they deal with this unfortunate accident. We will continue to offer our support to his family, coaches and our Coldwater High School students and faculty.”
