HASTINGS (WKZO AM/FM) — A love-triangle that ended in murder and arson has resulted in a guilty verdict in a Barry County courtroom.
Ralph Bowling testified on the stand that he did indeed wound Nathan Farrell and shot and killed his estranged wife Cheyenne in June of last year, but that was not his intent.
He says he confronted the two at her mother’s house near Dowling to try to save his marriage. He claims both shootings were accidental when the victims grabbed his guns.
He says he was suicidal two hours later when he returned home and set his house on Coats Grover Road on fire.
But he escaped the fire and later turned himself into police.
The jury found him guilty on nine counts including murder and attempted murder Friday. He will be sentenced on June 26th.
