MONTGOMERY, MI (WTVB) – A Montgomery man was arrested by the Michigan State Police on a charge of assault with intent to murder on Thursday after he allegedly attacked his 75-year-old father with the blade from a reciprocating saw.
29-year-old Shawn David Robey was arraigned on Friday in Hillsdale County District Court. Bond was set at $75,000.
The State Police at Jackson say they investigated a felonious assault that took place Thursday at a home on Hayward Street in Montgomery.
The victim was able to escape to a neighbor’s house where he called 911 to report the attack. He suffered severe but non-life threatening injuries was later taken to Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne.
State Police did not release details of what led up to the alleged incident.
Robey was still at the Hayward Street residence when the State Police took him into custody without incident.
