CARMICKLE (WKZO-AM) — A concertgoer looking for a place to sleep off a drunken stupor was thrown into the Calhoun County Jail after police say he broke into a business, where he fashioned a bed out of old shower curtain and paper towel rolls.
Michigan State Police say it happened Saturday night. Investigators say he entered Aktive Propane on 14 Mile Road in Carmickle after being abandoned by friends alongside Interstate 69 during a trip back from Indianapolis.
Police say the man, who has not been identified, set off a silent alarm after entering the business. He fled after police arrived.
A suspect was later arrested after being tracked through a bean field by police dogs. Police say he could be charged with unlawful entry by as early as Monday.
