ORLANDO, FLORIDA (WKZO) — A race-driver known to local race fans has died at Disney World in Florida, where he was working one of the attractions.
Gary Terry, who grew up in St. Joseph, raced regularly at Berlin Motor Speedway and the Kalamazoo Speedway.
He was working as a driving instructor at the Exotic Driving Experience at the Disney theme park.
For a fee, amateurs could slide behind the wheel of a Lamborghini and take it for a high speed spin on a closed track.
Sunday a man from Kissimmee Florida lost control at about 100 mph and slammed passenger side first into the end of a guard rail, impaling the car on the rail and killing Terry.
He leaves a wife and a young daughter.
