BATTLE CREEK MI (WNWN) – Battle Creek, and Kalamazoo have some of the lowest gas prices in Michigan right now in the $2.33 to $2.45 per gallon range, well below the state’s average price of $2.60 per gallon and even further below the national average of $2.80 per gallon. AAA of Michigan says while gas prices have dropped 20-cents per gallon in the last two weeks, they have only dropped 2-cents nationally.
National Pollster Trilby Lundberg says with crude prices this low, the rest of the nation could soon be catching up. While the Iran nuclear agreement may not be very popular on Capitol Hill, AAA’s Susan Hiltz says its one of the main drivers behind the international drop in crude prices. Just the prospect of Iranian sanctions being lifted and their crude flowing again into world markets has greatly lowered the price.
