QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – A very unusual 9-1-1 call early today in Branch County. Michigan State Police from the Coldwater Post tell us a very drunk man got his head caught in the metal headboard of a folding futon mattress in his apartment in the village of Quincy. He was stuck for about a half hour before being rescued with the help of Quincy Fire Department first responders, who used an electric hack saw to cut the bars and free the 28-year old from the stranglehold that had his head trapped for nearly a half an hour.
The incident was reported around 4:30 a.m. Tuesday. State Police say two other men in the downtown apartment at 9 East Chicago Street had been drinking as well and failed to remedy the predicament their friend found himself in.
Life Care Ambulance was at the scene but the victim declined treatment with no apparent injuries.
