KALAMAZOO (WKZO) — High school football starts this weekend in west Michigan, a thrill for parents and players and classmates, and it can be a pain for the neighbors.
This week the City of Kalamazoo took the first step in a long process to address that conflict in the construction of any future sports venues or entertainment centers with a new lighting ordinance proposal.
City Planner Robert Baukham says would set the standards to minimize those conflicts.
He says another forum will be held before it goes to the Planning Commission and the City Commission with public hearings held all along the way.
