SPRINGFIELD (WKZO-AM) — A Springfield couple is recovering from minor injuries after a home invasion early Tuesday in the 100 block of Avenue C.
Calhoun County Sheriff’s deputies say one of the residents at the home opened the front door to let the dog out at around 4:20 a.m. They were greeted by four masked men with handguns, who rushed the door.
The 57-year-old and 61-year-old victims told police they were roughed up as the robbers demanded cash and made off with their supply of medical marijuana.
A K9 tracker was deployed, but the dog lost the scent at the spot where its believed the gunman may have parked their getaway car.
The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Department is asking anyone with information to give them a call at (269) 781-0880.
