BATTLE CREEK (WKZO-AM) — Binder Park Zoo says it’s trying to raise $50,000 for a new digital X-ray machine.
Spokesperson Kari Parker said the Battle Creek facility currently houses a 15-year-old film-based system that’s slow, imprecise and requires anesthesia.
“With this new digital technology that’s out there, it’s much more clear, much more crisp and it’s much faster,” Parker said. “With this type of technology, we might be able to do it without putting some of the animals under anesthesia.”
The zoo has already raised $30,000 for the device, Parker said.
