FLOWERFIELD TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – Two Niles residents were injured Sunday afternoon when their motorcycle was struck by a jeep in St. Joseph County’s Flowerfield Township.
The St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Department says the crash on M-216 near Creglow Road took place just before 4:30 p.m. when a jeep driven by 43-year-old Frank Paauwe of Colon made a U turn and did not see a motorcycle driven by 52-year-old Thomas Lee Spain of Niles.
The motorcycle went into a ditch following the collision. A passenger on the motorcycle, 52-year-old Vickie Lin Spain of Niles, was flown by Aircare to Bronson Hospital for her injuries. Thomas Spain was also taken to Bronson Hospital.
Paauwe was not injured but he was cited for failure to yield.
