KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — The United Way has kicked off its fall campaign in Battle Creek and Kalamazoo.
The charitable group has set out some targeted issues to tackle with the money they raise.
Among the goals is to improve high school graduation rates, address infant health and mortality, increase the number of stable households and work to shore up the social safety net to help people in times of emergencies.
To acheive those goals they have devised an impact strategy with a dashboard for measuring their success.
They kickoff the campaign this week with $1.8 million in pledges already secured from early campaigns.
Once again this year, they will be giving a car away to a random donor who donates at least $50 if it’s their first time or $25 more than last year if you are a regular contributor.
The donation deadline is Nov. 18 if you want in on the drawing.
