KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — The technical crew from ESPN’s College Gameday are scheduled to be in town Wednesday to start setting up their mobile outdoor TV studio on the mall in front of Sangren Hall at Western Michigan University. If they can find their way through the fog.
Greg Ayers at Discover Kalamazoo says the spectacular winning streak of the WMU Broncos has brought a lot of attention, a lot of tourists and a national spotlight to the community.
He says they will stage a pep rally in Bronson Park the night before this Saturday’s game against the Buffalo Bulls. They expecting a sell-out at Waldo Stadium for the 3:30 p.m. kickoff on Saturday
WMU’s central mall will be opened at about 6 a.m. for anyone who wants to join the local crowd cheering on the production.
Ayers says this is all priceless national exposure that will help the community for years to come.
WMU remains at No. 21 in the College Playoff Poll and No. 14 in the AP poll.
