BATTLE CREEK (WKZO-AM) — Police say a suspicious smell led authorities directly to a pot grow at an apartment Monday afternoon.
The Battle Creek Police Department says officers were investigating the odor in the 100 block of Rambling Lane at around 4 p.m. After linking the smell to the rental, officers obtained a search warrant and found over 30 marijuana plants and $300 cash inside.
The Calhoun County Prosecutor’s Office is now reviewing the case. The person inside was reportedly cooperative with the investigation.
The department did not list a street value for the drugs.
