BEDFORD TOWNSHIP (WKZO AM/FM) — They are still adding up the damage and looking for the cause of a fire that destroyed a camper trailer and a three bay garage on Collier Avenue in Bedford Township early Sunday.
Neighbors first noticed the fire, called 911 and alerted the occupants of the home.
Fire Crews were dispatched at 12:44 am and were met by heavy smoke and flames coming from the garage. Their first priority was keeping the fire from spreading to the home.
They believe the fire started in the camper trailer and jumped to the garage. The family lost a motorcycle and a boat and a number of other items.
Firefighters from as far away as Barry and Kalamazoo County assisted the Bedford Township Fire Department battle the flames.
There were no injuries.
