UNDATED (WKZO AM/FM) — The BISSELL Pet Foundation is hoping to find homes for over two-thousand pets today. The nonprofit will be paying adoption fees at 65 shelters and rescues across Michigan.
More than two dozen shelters in West Michigan are taking part in the event.
Anyone adopting a pet tomorrow will only be responsible for a seven-to-12-dollar licensing fee. Last year, 19-hundred pets were adopted on Empty the Shelters Day.
Participating organizations in Kalamazoo include the SPCA on KL Avenue , and the Kalamazoo Animal Rescue in the Business One plaza near Sprinkle and I-94.
