KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — The person of interest in Saturday’s shooting death on Oakland Drive is being held on a $250,000 bond on a pair of unrelated charges.
24-year-old Jerel Strong is charged with resisting and obstructing police and a drug possession count.
He had been arrested and convicted before of an assault involving police officers in 2012.
He was identified after officers released photos of him taken at a party on Oakland Drive early Saturday morning that ended when Thomas Anders of Portage was shot and killed.
He has not been charged with that crime.
