HILLSDALE, MI (WTVB) – A man who was wanted for Absconding from Parole out of Kalamazoo County was being held in the Hillsdale County Jail Thursday following a high speed 100 mile per hour pursuit through three counties.
23-year-old Christopher Ladell Strong was being held without bond pending his arraignment on the warrant as well as on four Hillsdale County felonies and numerous other traffic violations.
The Hillsdale County Prosecutor’s Office may file additional charges against Strong.
The pursuit started in Marshall when the suspect tried to flee from medical personnel after they were called for an unresponsive man at a local motel.
The chase went south into Branch County and east into Hillsdale County. It went through Jonesville, the northern part of Hillsdale, Allen and Litchfield before ending at County Line Road south of Homer.
At least two Michigan State Police units were damaged during the pursuit.
Sheriff Departments from Calhoun, Branch and Hillsdale Counties and State Police from the Jackson Post were among the police agencies assisting the State Police from Marshall.
Michigan Department of Corrections records indicate Strong has two fleeing and eluding convictions. The first was out of St. Joseph County in 2011, the other was out of Kalamazoo County in 2015.
