LANSING, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The four survivors of Kalamazoo’s biking tragedy are on the list of people who will be testifying today in Lansing for improved safety on the road for bike riders.
Paul Runnels, Sheila Jeske, Jennifer Johnson and Paul Gobble will offer testimony in support of legislation sponsored by Sen. Margaret O’Brien of Portage, and several other lawmakers.
O’Brien says it’s a bi-partisan, bicameral group of lawmakers who have introduced the identical package of bills in both chambers.
Senator O’Brien says it not only focuses on cyclists but on better training for motorists.
Some of the bills were first proposed last year but did not get approved.
