KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — It’s not much of a deal but Kevin Stanfill has cut a plea bargain with the prosecutor’s office for the execution style slaying of his wife and the mother of his children.
The abusive ex-con with a long list of prior offenses is charged with walking his battered wife out to a remote field in northern Cooper Township and shooting her in the head four times late last year. She was reported missing, until police were led to the body in mid-January.
His own sister, Jerri Stripling testified against Stanfill during his preliminary hearing that she was in the car when he killed 36-year-old Kelly Ann Karl Stanfill.
Stripling testified that her brother threatened to kill her too if she ever said anything.
Stanfill has reportedly agreed to plead guilty to open murder, in exchange; three gun charges will be dropped. That means he could still face life when he is sentenced on December 4th.
