KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — Today is National Prescription Drug Take Back day. Officials are encouraging residents with expired, unused and unnecessary prescription drugs laying around to take them to a drop off point and dispose of them safely.
Officials say alot of the painkillers can end up being abused by other family members.
They will collect them and incinerate them and dispose of the ashes in a landfill.
From 10am to 2pm Saturday they will be collecting the old pills. We have a list of sites at our website. State Police Posts are all participating.
Kalamazoo County In Kalamazoo there are drug drop off points that can be used any day at the Sheriff’s Department, Public Safety Headquarters on Crosstown, at Portage and Kalamazoo Township Police Headquarters and at the WMU Police Building near campus.
