OAKLAND COUNTY (WKZO AM/FM) A veteran police officer has been killed in the line of duty, while deploying stop-stick to try to blow out the tires of a young male suspect who was being chased by other officers.
Dead is 50-year-old Deputy Eric Overall, who was struck by the 22-year-old fleeing suspect.
Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard says they believe the suspect veered over to strike the Deputy.
The suspect lost control and rolled over and was arrested after he was freed from the wreckage.
He has four previous arrests for marijuana and resisting officers.
