COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A Coldwater area man is dead, after his car left the road and struck a tree early Saturday morning in southern Branch County.
Michigan State Police say the accident happened around 2:00 a.m. in the 700 block of Lake Drive. They say the driver lost control of the vehicle and struck the tree. Police say he died at the scene.
In addition to the Michigan State Police, the Lakeland Fire Department and LifeCare Ambulance responded to the accident.
Family members have verified the name of the driver as Clifford Bowers, a Coldwater High School graduate.
The accident remains under investigation.
