COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A large crowd jammed their way into the lobby of what is now ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital Monday for a ribbon cutting ceremony hosted by the Coldwater Area Chamber of Commerce.
ProMedica officially took over control of the hospital January 1, 2018. Temporary signs have been put into place.
Hospital President and CEO Randy DeGroot said the former Community Health Center of Branch County and ProMedica had a lot of things in common.
State Senator Mike Shirkey told DeGroot they picked a good partner that will lead to increased economic activity in the community.
ProMedica President and CEO Randy Oostra said they pride themselves on the legacy of community hospitals.
Besides the ribbon cutting, the Community Health Center Foundation was presented a $200,000 donation from the John Vore Estate Trust, which will be used to purchase medical equipment for the hospital nursery.
