BATTLE CREEK (WKZO AM/FM) — Two suspects in a dog fighting investigation that involved raids on homes in Battle Creek and Portage last fall have lost ownership of five of their pitbulls after testimony from a veterinarian about their health and the conditions they were living in.
The dogs were removed from two homes in Battle Creek last October.
Craig Farrington of Battle and Latshaw Porch of Portage also face animal cruelty charges and allegations that they were maintaining the dogs for fighting.
Those charges are being pursued separately.
The owners objected saying they were show dogs, and Farrington says he may appeal.
