BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — After a massive summer recall following a salmonella scare, Kellogg’s says Honey Smacks cereal is returning to store shelves.
The cereal will be made available in November after about 1.3-million cases were pulled back in June due to potential contamination.
U.S. health regulators said Honey Smacks cereal was linked to more than 60 illnesses.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention closed its investigation into the outbreak last month.
Kellogg’s will now produce the cereal, with an updated recipe, at its own facility rather than the third-party facility it was being manufactured at earlier.
