BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A 14-year-old girl from Battle Creek is in big trouble after she took her mother’s car for a joy ride early Wednesday morning.
She just happened to fly by several City Police Officers handling another matter on Harris Street.
The officers say the teen came careening around the corner at about 45mph in the family sedan at about 3 a.m. and narrowly missed striking them.
They yelled at the girl to pull over and exit the vehicle. She admitted she didn’t have a license, but allegedly gave a false name.
She was ticketed for careless driving and booked into juvenile detention for obstructing police and driving without a license.
