KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — It’s one of those unique to Kalamazoo Christmas Traditions.
Today the Red Cross will Sponsor their 34th annual Christmas Eve blood drive at the Radisson in Downtown Kalamazoo.
They have taken over the Ballroom for the event.
The need for blood is particularly acute during the holidays because there aren’t a lot of drives taking place, and it can be a time of higher accident rates.
For the past few years, the event has been a memorial for former Public Safety Sgt. Lisa Zuk who was a regular donor until cancer claimed her life.
The event begins at 7am and runs to 2pm today.
