KALAMAZOO TOWNSHIP (WKZO AM/FM) — Crews are investigating a fire that broke out an apartment complex in Kalamazoo Township.
Multiple units were called to the Sage Terrace Apartments on North Sage Street near West Main around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday and discovered the blaze in one unit.
Around 30 people were evacuated and a woman had to be rescued from the third floor window but nobody was injured.
Officials believe the fire may have started in a kitchen on the second floor but they’re still looking into the exact cause.
The Kalamazoo Township Fire Marshal says it is not being considered suspicious and the property manager is working to find shelter for the displaced residents.
