BATTLE CREEK, MI (WTVB) – Due to this week’s winter weather event, the Calhoun County Public Health Department has announced that second dose vaccination clinics were rescheduled to Saturday and Monday, February 20 and 22 which is still within the CDC’s recommended time frame for receiving the second dose.
Over 7,000 first dose and nearly 2,800 second dose shots have been administered in Calhoun County.
Last week, the Public Health Department administered nearly 2,300 shots.
Officials say the COVID-19 vaccine is starting to become more widely available in Calhoun County with local hospitals now administering shots.
Additionally, Rite Aid has confirmed vaccinations in multiple locations in Battle Creek and Marshall.
The Public Health Department say their wait list for individuals 65 and over to receive the COVID-19 vaccine exceeds 6,000 but with increasing partnerships and as more vaccine becomes available, the list will decrease.
