TEKONSHA, MI (WTVB) – Due to COVID-19 related issues, Tekonsha Community Schools will be closed through next Friday, March 19.
Instruction will be virtual during that time.
Superintendent Jeff Kawaski says school will resume with face to face instruction on Monday, March 22.
The school offices will be open Friday from 7:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. for students that need to pick up Chrome books or textbooks.
There will be no games or practices for athletics through March 19.
Kawaski said in his post on the district’s Facebook page that closing school was based on information and direction from the Calhoun County Public Health Department and the health and safety of all involved.
He went on to say, “We also understand that this makes things difficult for many parents and families. Please keep in mind that our school has no control over Covid 19. Nor do we have any control over how long students that test positive must be out of school or how long students must be quarantined. This is determined by the Health Department.”
