SOUTH HAVEN TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — One of two people who were seriously injured when a house exploded near South Haven Tuesday has died.
Family members told WOOD-TV Colleen Van Wagner died Wednesday morning from injuries she suffered in the explosion. Her husband, Bob VanWagner, remains hospitalized.
The explosion was caused by a propane tank and left the house on 2nd Ave. in South Haven Township completely leveled. Neighbors had rescued the couple shortly after the blast.
Investigators are still trying to determine exactly what happened, but believe that the tank had a leak somewhere, which led to a build-up of gas inside the home.
