KALAMAZOO MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The former director of nursing at Lakeside Academy has pleaded no contest in connection with the 2020 death of a student there.
Heather McLogan entered the plea last week after an agreement was reached with prosecutors.
Cornelius Fredericks died after being restrained for throwing a sandwich in the cafeteria.
McLogan did not participate in the restraint, documents from the agreement state that she should have ended the action.
The victim’s family was consulted regarding the plea agreement.
McLogan will receive probation on the charge of third-degree child abuse, a felony, and will testify against two other defendants in the case.
