VAN BUREN COUNTY, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A woman and a horse she had been riding were both struck by a vehicle Wednesday evening in Van Buren County.
Sheriff’s deputies say she was on the side of the road in an area along County Rd. 376 with another person trying to readjust the saddle when the accident happened. A westbound vehicle hit the woman and the horse just after 6:30 p.m.
Deputies said the woman, a 49-year-old from Bangor Township, was rushed to a hospital with critical injuries, but an update on her condition has not been given. The horse was injured but is expected to recover.
The accident remains under investigation.
