EMMETT TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Calhoun County investigators say a motorcyclist died Sunday evening after colliding with a vehicle in Emmett Township.
The crash was reported just after 10:00 p.m. on E. Columbia Ave. between Nelson and Marjorie Streets. 48-year-old Michael Montes was headed eastbound on his motorcycle and struck the driver’s side door of a pick-up truck that was pulling out of a parking lot. The 63-year-old driver of the truck was not injured.
Investigators say it is the second fatal crash in just four months in this area. In April, a pedestrian was struck and later died who had been crossing the road after exiting the same parking lot off of Columbia Ave.
