BATTLE CREEK MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Union members have apparently rejected a tentative agreement with the Kellogg Company.
WWMT News 3 is reporting that Union President Trevor Bidelman indicated that the vote to reject was “overwhelming”.
Indications are that numerous disagreements still exist, including the major issue of a two-tiered benefit system, which union officials have contended is a major problem.
Kellogg officials indicated their disappointment with the outcome, stating that the company has presented at least six different proposals that have met with negative results from the union.
In addition, the company has said it will begin hiring permanent replacements for the striking workers in order to maintain “business continuity”.
