ST. JOSEPH, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Testing positive for COVID-19 earlier in the week put a damper on any St. Patrick’s Day celebration for 6th District Congressman Fred Upton.
According to Upton, whose district covers all of Kalamazoo County, ” Thankfully, I am fully vaccinated and boosted and because of that I am only experiencing mild symptoms. Per CDC guidelines, I will continue to isolate and drink lots of water. I’ll confess this was my first St. Patrick’s Day without a Guinness.”
In his latest newsletter released Friday, Upton also said he has had to postpone many upcoming local meetings and visits, including the Grand Rapids Economics Club discussion with Debbie Dingell and moderated by Hank Meijer that was originally scheduled for this Monday, March 21. the event has now been rescheduled for May 23.
Upton says because the House will be in a week-long recess, it will give me a chance to head home to Michigan from Washington D.C. once he tests negative.
