BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The Nottawaseppi Huron Band of the Potawatomi owners of FireKeepers Casino Hotel in Battle Creek announced on Thursday, March 31, that their outstanding performance for 2021 contributed over $21 million dollars to the State of Michigan.
The announcement comes after the casino itself contributed a combined $27.4 million in contributions, more than doubling those in 2021.
According to the NHBP, the funds also provide an increase of more than 11% over the 2019 allocation.
Contributions also allowed the casino to allocate $6.3 million of the funds to the FireKeepers Local Revenue Sharing Board.
With the latest contribution, the NHBP’s lifetime combined revenue sharing payments now total more than $260 million.
Tribal Council Chairperson Jamie Stuck credited the dedication of the team members who delivered outstanding guest service, even during during the pandemic.
“Management and staff faced extreme labor shortfalls and waves of COVID variants, as we built and opened a beautiful hotel tower and additions to our casino and restaurant offerings,” said Stuck.

- Greater Calhoun County Region $6.1 million (Calhoun, Jackson, Branch)
- West Michigan $10.7 million (Allegan, Barry, Berrien, Grand Traverse, Kalamazoo, Kent, Muskegon, Ottawa, Van Buren)
- Lansing Area $36.5 million (Ingham, Eaton, Clinton)
- Metro Detroit $2.5 million (Wayne)
- Other $15.4 million (Chippewa, Genesee, Gratiot, Ionia, Livingston, Macomb, Manistee, Marquette, Mecosta, Midland, Monroe, Newaygo, Oakland, Saginaw, St. Clair, Shiawassee, Washtenaw, Wexford)
