LANSING, MI (WNWN/WTVB) – A Battle Creek man has won $25,000 a year for life playing the Michigan Lottery’s Lucky for Life game.
64-year-old Michael Justice matched the five white balls drawn on July 17 which were 02-04-18-22-41 to win $25,000 a year for life.
He bought his winning ticket at the Marathon gas station at 1411 East Michigan Avenue in Battle Creek.
Justice says, “I really like the Lucky for Life game and I play it often. I woke up the morning after the drawing and started my day. When I remembered my Lucky for Life ticket, I stopped what I was doing to check the winning numbers. I jumped up and started shouting when I realized I’d won $25,000 a year for life!”
Justice visited Lottery headquarters to claim his big prize.
He chose to receive his winnings as a one-time, lump sum payment of $390,000, rather than annuity payments of $25,000 for 20 years or life, whichever is greater.
Justice plans to pay bills, share the winning with his family and buy a new car.
