KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Kalamazoo City Commissioners have approved mid-year budget adjustments to continue the American Rescue Plan Act funding they launched last year.
City Hall’s Chief Financial Officer, Steve Vincenzi says these are programs that couldn’t wait until the next budget is approved in five months.
Public Safety Chief Vern Coakley says one of the programs takes juvenile offenders most at risk of repeat their criminal activity and puts them on the right path.
Commissioners also approved funding for a marketing study and improvements to the Community Room at City Hall to make it more internet friendly.
The total commissioners approved Monday night was about $1.3 million.
