BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A man already convicted of several other murders has pled guilty to killing a Battle Creek woman and burying her body in Calhoun County’s Newton Township.
44-year-old Harold David Haulman in December 2022 was formally arraigned on a charge of premediated first-degree murder in the killing of 21-year-old Ashley Parlier. He entered the plea to second-degree murder Wednesday, so the previous charge was dropped.
Parlier was last seen leaving her Bedford Township in 2005.
Haulman has confessed to knocking Parlier unconscious during an argument before he struck her over the head with a piece of wood and buried her body in a wooded area in Newton Township. Her remains have still not been found, according to detectives.
Haulman is expected to be sentenced April 10, 2023 in Calhoun County Circuit Court.
He is also serving life in prison in Pennsylvania after he confessed to killing two women in 2018 and 2020.
Haulman was 20 years old when he also admitted to killing a man in Germany in 1999. He was convicted as a juvenile since anyone under 21 can’t be charged as an adult in Germany.
