KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a suspect involved with a shooting at an Oshtemo Township Liquor Store that took place a week ago on Thursday, February 23.
Sheriff’s deputies responded around 1:25 p.m. to the parking lot of Bronco Liquor at 5034 KL Avenue after getting a 911 call about a shooting with possible multiple victims.
On scene, deputies found evidence of a shooting taking place and spoke to multiple witnesses.
Video surveillance footage gathered by authorities showed the two suspects following the victim into the store where witnesses say they appeared to be having a conversation. Surveillance footage then showed the two suspects once again following the victim out of the store, exchanging words while the victim walked back to his vehicle. The two suspects then took defensive positions, each brandishing a firearm, and shot into the direction of the victim who was able to drive away.
One suspect is currently in custody with the other one still at large. Kalamazoo County Sheriff Rick Fuller is urging anyone with information relating to the incident to contact his office immediately.
Fuller went onto say, since the shooting happened close to the busy intersection of Drake Road and KL Avenue, for those that may have suffered damage to their vehicles, or damage or injury of any kind to also report it.
